Here is the latest news on LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis, per Football Scoop:
quote:

John Chavis: Per source, Les and the administration met last night and then Les met with Chavis. The team is headed back to Baton Rouge today; but we understand that Chief is headed to his ranch up near Knoxville to think about some things. As of 7am this morning, per sources, he had not informed LSU or A&M of a final answer. Sources we have spoken with believe that Chavis’ buyout at LSU drops from $400,000 to zero at midnight tonight.

If an additional $400,000 is coming into my pocket, and I get out of paying my current employer $400,000 for leaving as of midnight tonight, I would wait before officially announcing a decision, too. Most folks would.

If the decision is that hard then he needs to go.

Manny Diez needs to be LSU's next DC.

The man produced the SEC's number one defense (after a terrible start, I might add) and people on this board want him gone. We have some of the worst fans...

Not only did he sweat the petty stuff, he's about to pet the smelly stuff.

Aggie board is saying that he's taking Adam Henry and Brick Haley with him.

The entire program is heading down hill. The road to mediocrity ............

Does anybody see the sinking ship????? My gawd...Chavis is not an idiot. Until we recruit a few players with some brainpower along with the talent, we gonna continue to flounder around the cellar of the sec. We desparately need leadership from a qb and some team spirit. Come on, we were sleepwalking through the Music City bowl..and lose to a very mediocre ND team....

don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out Chavis

Thanks for your time here Chief. You carried Miles' water for the last few years. We all get tired of incompetent management.
