NFL Insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady could be a top candidate for an NFL offensive coordinator position.

Rapport believes that Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Don Martindale could land a head coaching job soon and would want Brady to be his offensive coordinator.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said in November that a plan is already in place to keep Brady in Baton Rouge.

Brady, who is in his first season with LSU, came to Baton Rouge after serving as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints from 2017-2018.

Not saying it will not happen. But, that is a guy looking for a job (Martindale) and using Brady as bait to get one.

I have to admit that would be hard to turn down because if his goal is to be a head coach in the NFL one day he essentially skips a couple steps and enters the race right away in his early 30’s. He will also have to self evaluate and talk to peers and find out if he is indeed ready cause a mishap could also send him back to college in a couple years if he isn’t. Should be interesting none the less and Kudos to him for getting consideration.

He's going to get mentioned for everything. Doesn't mean it's a good decision for him or even the other party.

This is lazy reporting. One article quoting another article quoting Rappoport. It's all speculation. Martindale doesn't have an offer anywhere, hasn't even interviewed, and the tweet was IF all of that happened, he would hire a 30-year old couch he's never worked with and has never been an OC before as his OC. I thought Rappoport was better. Guess not. #juststupid

This is great for LSU recruiting TD. A guy who might get a job and might want to hire Brady? Does this really deserve to be your big lead story today?

Brady hasn’t even been a solo college OC yet. What’s he like with a mortal QB and not the best all time NCAA QB?
This is getting laughable.

be a smart idea to have Joe Brady take a young guy under his wings who can learn all of the offense. That way if he ever bolts we're not stuck

Martindale needs to stand on his own and stop trying to prop up this opportunity using another man's name..

Unless he stays at LSU to grow gradually all this hype is setting him up for failure. He should stays at LSU with a raise if he is smart. It is not even clear that LSU offense success is 100% because of him. Yes he may be able to capitalize on this years LSU success and get another job but it could be extremely risky too.

^^THIS^^. Nobody could fault him for jumping at a horde of cash thrown his way. But if he were patient he could continue to learn under Slinger (more nuances and intricacies) and name his salary and location later.

He’ll likely follow a path similar to McVay and be a very young head coach soon. LSU just needs to make sure that when he does leave, it’s not because of money. Also they should be working, and probably are on a succession plan so they have a few good replacements in mind.

Good luck, rumours are he's in the running for Paxton and Brayden's 7 on 7 OC job.

He gave Jimbo $75 million so surely he can come up with cash for an actual productive coach.
