ESPN's Greg McElroy previewed Saturday's matchup between LSU and Alabama on his 'Always College Football' show this week.

The former Alabama quarterback said he is picking the Crimson Tide to win and thinks Alabama's rushing attack will be the difference. Per SDS:
quote:

“LSU has won 15 straight night games at Tiger Stadium, and LSU is 17-1 at home under Brian Kelly,” McElroy said. “Alabama is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 trips to Baton Rouge. I will take Alabama. I think their defense is improving significantly. Alabama’s secondary vs LSU’s wide receivers and Garrett Nussmeier at quarterback. I think Garrett Nussmeier might throw an interception or two, and I think Alabama’s rushing attack is what ultimately tips the scales in its favor.”

I don’t think anyone could logically disagree with him, been that kind of season.

His take isnt wrong. We either eek out a win or Bama rolls. Its the run game for him. Cant disagree. Hoping for some nighttime magic like ole miss

What he says is painfully accurate. LSU has to prove him wrong.

Omg, he picked Alabama, what a reach.

I know right. The only thing more shocking would be if Scott Long ever picked LSU to win ! :)

We can't have more passing attempts than rushing yards again

Well, I mean, he played for Alabama. Who else would he realistically pick but Alabama, and that’s not an issue for me. I fully expect it, and would be floored if he didn’t honestly.

So, what did anyone think he would pick!

I think if we stick to a game plan that features Taylor and Green we win this thing. We are money in the bank when we have plays drawn up for Taylor. Very athletic and tough after the catch.
Beat and soften that middle up a little then feature the wide receivers for bigger plays.

I think he has been very fair and objective over these past few seasons with his picks and analysis. At times, he has been pretty pro-LSU on a number of occasions. Yes, he's a Gump, but he's pretty fair. I can't say I disagree with what he said. Our last game leaves the impression that we can't run the ball, and struggle to stop a running QB. Combine with the fact that Nuss does at times force bad throws. I hope the same LSU team that battled back to beat Ole Miss shows up, and they might! But McElroy's analysis wasn't wrong.

Exactly. He does a great job. People on here are so easily offended when someone gives an opinion they don't agree with

He's a former Bama QB. What do we expect. A lot of folks over the years have smoked Bamajuana...

Most bias dude in sports. Ignore his takes and his voice is annoying.

Marcus Spears, Anthony McFarland, and other LSU-related personalities aren't? Whatever.

No man. He's not. He is actually pretty objective.
