Former LSU and current San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid joined Colin Kaepernick on Thursday and chose not to stand for the National Anthem before their preseason game against San Diego.

Instead of standing during the anthem, both players dropped to a knee. Per ESPN:
quote:

SAN DIEGO -- Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the singing of the national anthem Thursday night, continuing his protest before the San Francisco 49ers' preseason finale at San Diego.

This time, he had company, as safety Eric Reid joined him in taking a knee just before the anthem as boos rained down from the crowd.

On Sunday, Kaepernick vowed to continue his protest during the national anthem until "significant change" is made regarding racial oppression in the United States.

Reid said he grew up around this. He grew up around the criminal elements robbing and destroying things, mainly each other. He means nothing to me and my marine friends can water his grave with their sh$t

Rich, coddled celebrities who have no grasp of reality. When will white society get tired of subsidizing them?

Rich coddled athlete-celebrities who have no grasp on reality. Sad, really. When will white society get tired of carrying this dead weight?
user avatar

This is BS. Those young men have never been oppressed a day in their lives. And that society they complain about? Has done more to help blacks than any country any where ever. Billions spent trying to mainstream folks who can't do what the Asians and Indians routinely do: work hard, obey the law, get ahead. Kma.

I wonder why we stopping singing the 3rd stanza of that song? Anybody know? Oh yea it pretty said f××× any slave you who wants to stand up for what's right. Which is kind of sad because the very people who had something to say about it then were the ones who wanted the conditions to stay the same. So much to which they were willing to go to war for or to die for. Here we are today and we still are in basically the same situation 151 years later. How dare he stand up for what's right.

We're not in the same situation. Despite our best efforts, we are swamped by crime and held back by social turmoil emanating from the same small group of underachieving and violent people.

I don't see the endgame here. If there were specific legislation up for vote, someone on trial, or a politician's actions being debated, etc. I could understand how there could be a day when Colin decides to stand up during the Anthem. But when the goal is so vague...how does this ever end? Does he just say, 'okay, thats enough change' one day? Not sure he thought this one through

white folks are funny, telling people how to feel and shyt lol. Did you guys protest peacefully for your freedoms and rights? You've been killing and committing genocide since your pale asses came over from Europe. Is this country peacefully protesting in the middle east right now to protect its right? At least these fellas are civilized and aren't including anyone but themselves.

Nobody is telling anyone how to feel. I'm sure you think there is all of this "oppression" in the US. Tell me, if black people were so oppressed, how did a black man get elected President? How did the first black woman get appointed sec. of state (C. Rice)? How are black people being given millions of dollars to play a game? The fact is, black people aren't "oppressed". You're just angry that when a criminal commits a crime, they aren't allowed to walk free. Newsflash, same thing happens to white people. The only reason black people are incarcerated at higher rates is because more black people commit crimes, as a percentage of the black population. More white people, by plain numbers, are actually in prison than black people. I guess "white folk" are oppressed too? You ever start to think, that maybe, if more than 25% of black kids grew up with fathers, maybe there wouldn't be such a high crime rate in the black community as a whole? You ever think, that maybe if you, and the 2 losers that are "protesting oppression of black people" maybe started pointing the finger inwards at your own culture, and recognize that more blacks kill other blacks than any other demographic, and that cities like Chicago, who killed 90 people last month (congrats?), that maybe the problem isn't white people, or cops. Maybe the problem is growing up in a culture where family and parenting is important is no longer pinnacle, where education is looked on as "selling out" to a large portion of the black community. Or where "Respect" is something valued so highly as to take another's life or committing violence against one who "disrespected" them, yet achieving respect through ones actions and character as a smart, strong, compassionate, and caring individual is never considered. Maybe realize the true oppression comes from within. And take accountability for your own actions. Kapernik was a product of a white woman and black man having a baby. The father left, the mother didn't want him, so what happened? A white couple adopted him. They became his parents, loved him, gave him everything he wanted, and eventually he achieved to be an NFL quarterback making millions. But the second he starts dating a BLM supporter, all of a sudden the US has become a place of black oppression. It's also coincidental that he pulls this shite, when he is likely to be cut from the 49ers. Grow up!

el,oh,el....dem tears taste good. Started dating a black lives supporter??? Do you hear how stupid that shite sounds? Yes I saw that fox news article to so I know where your stats and figures are coming from, the same people who got on air and said santa clause was white. NEXT
user avatar
BugAC92 months
The stats are from a verified survey. LINK / Not fox news, dumbass. Oh and read up on his girlfriend. LINK / If he was so against the so-called "oppression" why has he only been "protesting" now? Also, it appears you are not intellectually advanced enough to debate the points i made, only say "fox news", when clearly the stats did not come from Fox news. Try again, junior.

facts like America not expediting Lochte back to Brazil but white America condemning the POTUS for resolving diplomatic relations with Cuba because they won't expedite Assata Shakur to the US, or the swimmer who got 3 months for rape, or the white guy this week who got 3 months for child molestation, or the white guy in SC who can shoot up a church and walk out alive but a guy in Baton Rouge can't sell CD on private property with the consent of the store owner without being tackled and killed. Do you want to dive into the crack cocaine and powder cocaine conspiracy? White folks don't like those facts though.
