Former LSU cornerback Jaelyn Davis-Robinson announced Thursday evening that he has committed to SMU.

Davis-Robinson, a freshman from Waxahachie, Texas, was a late addition to LSU's 2022 signing class after receiving his offer a week before signing day. He picked the Tigers over Oregon.

The former three-star prospect redshirted this past season.

I don't understand freshman that transfer if they don't have a bigass program lined up honestly

Yeah me either but it's the new age of college football. But still don't get true freshmen throwing the towel in that quickly.

He transferred to a school that's close to home. Not to mention many guys will transfer to a small school because they know it will be easier to get playing time.

QJenk i can get with a kid wanting to go back close to home...but when you add the total of freshmen dipping after year one its kinds of jarring.

Good luck, young man. And if you make it to the NFL someday, you will always be a Tiger in my book.
