NOPD No Longer Sending Mounted Units To Oxford For LSU-Ole Miss Game

New Orleans Police will no longer send mounted units to Oxford for Saturday’s LSU-Ole Miss game, according to Travers Mackel of WDSU.
Additional support from the NOPD and National Guard is no longer expected for the Top-10 matchup, although law enforcement assistance from Mobile, Alabama, is still expected.
Oxford is preparing for a massive crowd as Lane Kiffin returns to face Ole Miss for the first time since leaving the Rebels for LSU last December.
Oxford Police Chief Jeff McCutchen said officials are preparing for what could be one of the biggest crowds they have ever seen in the city.
Kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
