100% sure this dude isn't getting through the season starting every game even if he is named the starter.

When opposing defenses see Etling they think of how hard of a hit they can lay on him. He's not much bigger than Drew Brees. I wish he could put some good weight on or somehow become more mobile so he doesn't fall everytime a Dlineman breathes on him

Not sure what you're seeing philly444. Etling is around 225lbs. and took some vicious hits last season. He got up every time. Only came out one play because his helmet came off.

Im still trying to remember what moment did Etling actually win the starting gig.

When he completed a 10 yard pass to a wide open receiver. Something other quarterbacks were struggling to do.

Wait so your saying a random poster on Tigerdroppings actually gave us factual "insider" information at 1am on a Sunday morning? I am actually impressed.

Has anyone ever had back surgery and felt 100% better?

Not sure if you're trolling with the whole 100% thing, but yes people get better. LINK /

This article makes his back procedure sound really minor though, saying he will be back for fall practice.

yes...they are generally a little overly careful after the surgery, though.

"minor"?

With ya...there's no such thing as minor back surgery

Just put a quarterback that can at least move. Alabama won the with just that formula. Etling can't pass or run which equals failure.

Sweet lord, calm down, people. This was planned, it went well, he's going to be back and fine very soon. Just waited to get through spring practice.

We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.

It doesn't matter. As soon as Myles Brennan steps on campus, everyone of the QBs on the roster will move backwards a spot,on the dept chart.

Actually, Brennan has already stated he would be open to redshirting this year to learn the system and get acclimated to college life.

mouche337, come back to reality.
user avatar
Mouche33784 months
Correct. He did say that. But if he's the best QB on the roster, do you really think they will red shirt him? Monsterballads, you need to come to reality. Nothing about our current roster of QBs impressed me during the spring game and the was the staff was talking, it didn't get better when they went indoors. Coach O has said all year that it is an open competition. If Brennan excels, which I think he will, there's no reason he shouldn't be starting opening day.

I just don't understand all the negative comments. It's spring people. Chill out. Long way to go until opening game. I'm sure the coaches will make the right decisions regarding personnel. Have a little faith!

Absolutely Mouche, the best qb will start. If it's Brennan, Etling, or whoever. I will support him all the way. I think it's just way to early to even speculate on anyone. The coaches will pick the right man for the job. Les and Cam are gone! Coach O and Coach C will get it right! Long way to go! Patience!
