ESPN College Football analyst Greg McElroy joined The Paul Finebaum Show this week and talked about how impressed he was with LSU quarterback Joe Burrow and his performance in the Ole Miss game.

Here's what he had to say, according to 247 Sports:
quote:

“What I found very encouraging about LSU last week was Joe Burrow went from caretaker to playmaker in the span of 60 minutes,” said McElroy. “Not only was he impressive statistically — he accounted for 388 yards — which is the fourth most ever by an LSU Tiger. But the throws that he made, some of which were contested, and the receivers made plays on the ball. When it wasn’t there, he showed a newfound ability to create with his legs. I didn’t know he had that. I knew he was a little slippery, but I didn’t know he was capable of actually being productive as a runner. He proved that, so it’s just another thing you have to account for.”
Through five games this season, Burrow has passed for 1023 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 154 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

He was playing the 0-2 SEC Ole Miss Doormats. How much did they pay you Greg to spit that out?

I said something similar right after the game. He finally showed that playmaking ability that I thought we'd get from him.
