After the completion of each week, ESPN College Football analyst Cole Cubelic shares his "Sunday SEC takeaways."

Here's what he had to say about LSU's 36-33 victory at South Carolina:
quote:

LSU: Hell of a win. Showed a ton of grit. Offense confused early. Multiple busts on protection & run game facing a shite ton of movement. Went to crunch/duo to get it sorted out & that was ultimately the difference in that side of the ball. Hit a few play actions off it & scored the last TD on it. QB made some tough throws. Knew he was going to take hits. Def out of position too much. Let eyes deceive them. But showed up & made plays at times. 40 hustled. 4 played like his hair was on fire. Weathered a category 9 on the road & went home with a W. At the end of the day the rest is nice to know.

Here's what he said about South Carolina after the loss:
quote:

SOUTH CAROLINA: Gut wrenching loss. I have not seen another defense in college football that hauls arse like that group did Saturday. DL disrupted. 5 was on a mission. 4 put his body on the line. 18 flying around. Gave up some underneath throws & missed a few tackles. Mostly got guys to the ground. Lost the edge in the run game later. But what an overall effort. OL played their best game of the year. 5 was outstanding. 15 is just a baller. Had no idea how good of a feel he had for the run game. Pressing blocks. Making them right. Great poise. They missed him. Lot of BS. I get it. But that effort on tape was awesome to watch. If they can get close to that each week they are gonna be fine.

nice to see a national name not blaming the refs for blowing a 17 point lead.

Road wins in the sec are tough. Team looked like dog shite in the first but woke up and played well down the stretch.
