ESPN included LSU's 2018 season opener vs. Miami (FL) in Dallas in their list of 12 games that could define the 2018 College Football Season.
quote:

Whether it's a high-profile nonconference game, or a season-defining rivalry game, certain matchups are guaranteed to resonate with the committee until Selection Day. Here's a look at 12 games this fall that will have the biggest influence on their final verdict, ranked in order of impact:

12. Miami vs. LSU, Sept. 2: If both of these teams go on to have successful seasons and are ranked in the committee's top 25, this game could keep the winner in the CFP conversation much like Miami's win over Notre Dame did last year for the Canes.

Iron bowl will be the game in the SEC for the next few years. Michigan may need to beat Ohio state more than any time in that programs history.

omg, this is the sorriest bunch of "fans" I've ever seen. You girls need to get over yourselves and find a team you can support not bad mouth. LSU owes you nothing and if your self esteem is tied up in what kids do on Saturday? You get what you deserve. smh

I'll be shocked if we qualify for a bowl.

I think this is the least I've ever cared going into an LSU Football season.

I remember when we used to have 3-4 games a year on that list (usually bama, auburn, and UF). We are irrelevant.

That is correct. And it didn't start last year.

Lmao.. I remember when we had real grown fans who didn't complain at every article written which has zero significance on our year.

Guess LSU v Alabama no longer important. Can’t defend it being important anymore to anyone nationally

7 straight losses will do that.

Alabama can lose to LSU or Auburn and still win the national championship. Those games no longer "define" a season.

Alabama can finish third in the SEC and still win the NC. ONLY Bama could pull this off.
