Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Ed Orgeron addressed the media on Monday afternoon for his weekly press conference and started off by talking about three things that need to happen in order for LSU to improve after Saturday's loss to Alabama.
quote:

After review of the film, an extensive review, all day yesterday, number one coach better. Start with me. Coach better. Put our guys in better position. Schemes could have been better. The guys did a good job for the most part but there's some things that we could have done better for our team. That's number one.

Number two is execute better. There was some execution that wasn't done and it cost us. You can't do it against a good team like Bama.

Number three on offensive and defensive line we have to be better in terms of building more depth, increasing the number of quality players that we already have.

Y’all see he walked that statement back a bit about the defensive and offensive lines

I feel like he just provided more context for comments made late at night after an arse kicking.

Number 1! Seems Slinger is 0'fer against the gumps in 2 games. I think his offense is better than that, but it seems he goes all conservative and hides all the good plays when the gumps show up. DUDE, let it fly, you are not playing to win, you are playing not to lose badly. And O, needs to understand what Les never could, Play To Win!

Couldn't have said it better, too conservative, afraid to punch the gumps, play to win. O has played them 3 times now and we don't do anything different than what Miles did, too conservative. Go for it damn it.

I am proud of the DBs we currently have and the ones we have had in the past...outstanding football players! But I have to wonder if the label DBU hasn't hurt us some in recruiting. If I am a blue chip offensive lineman in high school, how excited am I to go to DBU? I think it is interesting, and probably no accident, that Alabama has no labels like DBU. That said, I hope we have more success recruiting OL and DL which looks possible in 2019.

You know, you may be right. If I’m a Top OL recruit I don’t want to go to the school with the best DB’s. I want it to be all about me.

Quarterback, edge rushers, offensive tackles, Interior D-line depth and a cover safety opposite of Delpit. The coaches with the exception of Aranda got outcoached. If all of this can happen, we have a shot at finally beating Bama.

Best qb in the country would have had a tough time with our O line vs bama D line. I'm gonna have to disagree with your there

When your defense coughs up 575 yards I'd have to say Aranda got his arse handed to him. No way can I say he did his job, they ran it down our defenses throat. The punt coach maybe gets a pass.

For you youngsters... the best QB to come out of College (Archie Manning) could not do great things in the Pros .. the same reason. No QB can throw the ball while either laying on his back or running like hell. We need more depth at both line if we are to beat top teams. Not a great O Line.

What does depth matter when you rarely sub in anyway?

Better depth allows for subbing in with confidence. If your number two is a big drop from your one, your going to ride the ones.

Agree, don't understand why we can't get this satan gump monkey off our back, but it's past time. Didn't see much last Saturday night to offer any future encouragement in beating the beast.
