CBS Ranks SEC Football Coaches

CBS Sports writer Tom Fornelli ranked the SEC coaches from 14-1 on Tuesday and pegged LSU coach Les Miles at No. 2 behind Alabama's Nick Saban.

Yes, LSU had a bad season for LSU last year, finishing 8-5, but the thing about that is that 8-5 qualifies as a horrible season for Miles at LSU. He's only had two such seasons there. Read More.

Mark Richt should not be third. Spurrier and malzahn are better and have been to national championship games. Mark Richt hasn't done anything and Georgia has had a lot of talent and they play in the east

As with most "National" rankings, it's inaccurate. Overall and historically: 1.) Saban 2.) Spurrier 3.) Miles 4.) Richt 5.) TIE Malzahn-Mullen-Pinkel based on recent success 8.) TIE Freeze-Bielma based on recent program improvement. 10.) TIE Butch Jones-Mark Stoops. Not enough body of work to judge yet. 12.) Jim McIlwain. No body of work to judge yet 13.) Kevin Sumlin. Over rated and grossly over paid for producing middle of the pack SEC West finishes at A&M. Clueless defensively. Maybe Chavis will save his job. Would be better fit at Vanderbilt where expectations aren't so high. 14.) Derek Mason. Not an SEC caliber HC now or ever. Vandy should hire Sumlin after he gets the axe at A&M.....................
