LSU coach Brian Kelly spoke to the media this week to kickoff Spring Football and was asked about the recruitment of new LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels who transferred to Baton Rouge from Arizona State. Per On3:
quote:

“Once Jayden had made his decision to go into the portal, there are discussions,” Kelly said. “We’re looking at the portal like the free agency board. Does he fit our culture? Does he fit the offense? There are internal discussions in those first couple days. Contact was made and it was up to us whether we were going to reciprocate, and obviously, we did.

“He brings more than extending plays. We think there’s a lot that has not been tapped into for his ability to be a dual-threat quarterback. He’s got arm talent, high IQ and he’s a talented runner of the football. We think there’s much more to it.”
Daniels is one of four LSU quarterbacks that will be competing for the starting spot, along with Myles Brennan, Garrett Nussmeier, and Walker Howard. Spring Practice officially begins on Thursday afternoon.

I am ready for the competition. Just like Coach said, if you're scared of competition then this isn't the school for you. Iron sharpens iron.

Absolutely. Competition makes everyone better. There has been a sense of entitlement that has rotted the program and it’s good to see BK make guys earn their spots

Nuss transfer when?

If he does roll, he's foolish to do so till next spring. This is an established set of coaches with incredible resumes. All (with exception of Myles but for different reasons) would be foolish to leave this crop of coaches.

Brennan is the real deal. Why do people easily count him out?

Well then, Mr. "real deal" shouldn't have a problem with some competition.

I got a feeling Daniels will be QB1 based on his mobility
