LSU coach Brian Kelly spoke with reporters over the weekend about defensive back Javien Toviano and his role in the secondary next season.

Toviano took snaps at cornerback and the star position this year but will be moving to safety going forward, something that coach Kelly feels really good about.

The move will help with Sage Ryan and Major Burns not returning next season.

The former four-star prospect from Arlington, Texas, has played in 25 games over his first two seasons at LSU with three starts.

"He's a tackler." That's a good trait if you're gonna play safety.

YES! Toviano and Spears need to see a lot of the field in the bowl game.

He's a true safety. He will do well.

“He’s a tackler and will help us at that position.”
Sage Ryan shied away from contact, that was his biggest problem… just didn’t like to hit people!

Other than DJ Welter, him not playing is the biggest WTF of the last 15 years

Well, that and not using Trindon Holliday as an edge rusher.

If this guy balls out at safety in 2025 we should all be pissed because of the safety shite show in 2024

Can't be pissed when it's his fault because of the videotaping. New coach, new scheme, and he had to miss time.
