LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke with ESPN's Heather Dinich Monday morning and provided an update on defensive lineman Maason Smith ahead of Spring Practice.

The Tigers begin spring practice on Thursday, and Smith will be cleared for “everything but contact" next week, according to coach Kelly.

Smith tore his ACL in the season opener on Sept. 4 and had surgery on Sept. 21.

Need to stop the needless celebrations. Lost Maason last year, K J Johnson after gymnastics win with a foot fracture. I believe Lane Mesteyear was injured in a post regional dog pile a few years ago.
