Bryan Lynn-USA TODAY Sports
Vanderbilt offensive tackle transfer Tyler Steen announced Tuesday that he is headed to Alabama over LSU, Kentucky, Virginia, and UCLA.

The 6-foot-5, 317-pound lineman from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. visited Baton Rouge in March and was a major want for the new coaching staff.

Steen started in 30 SEC games during his time at Vanderbilt.

Did anyone ever really think he would choose LSU over Alabama? It doesn’t matter if they have 1,000 starting tackles ahead of him they always get the guys they want. Money and winning are a tough combo to beat. Until we get on that level we will always be picking up their scraps. Hopefully Kelly is the guy to do just that. We will be fine at OT this year so no big loss.

The amount of OTs they have recruited in the past 3 years is absurd. I mean it's just unimaginable.

Good luck seeing the field kid.

Highly unlikely they would recruit him to sit the bench and equally unlikely he would transfer to Alabama without feeling fairly confident he would play. Just common sense really.

So frustrating being the little brother! Joe was the only thing that could defeat satan! Retire Saban!

In football, LSU has always been little brother. Saban or no Saban.

LSU is not a little brother. That is stupid. No team with 4 championship appearances in the last 19 years is a little brother. Alabama is just something different. Fortunately, it will never happen again. I hope they are enjoying this run, because it will fall apart rapidly when Saban is gone.

Dude they got a transfer from Vanderbilt. Lol. Look at all the players LSU has that Bama lost out on. In the last 15 player class LSU signed Bama offered 12 of them. Saban is on his last leg and Brian Kelly is just lurking out here to bust Bama’s ass.

I really hope the $$$ was worth it. I sincerely hope he never gets any meaningful minutes and is buried so deep on their depth chart that he can’t see the light of day.
