LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, tight end coach Steve Ensminger, and running back coach Tommie Robinson all visited with tight end commit Zach Sheffer on Sunday night.

Sheffer, a three-star tight end/ H-back from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. is expected to sign early with the Tigers sometime around Dec. 20-22.

The 6-3, 225-pound prospect from Nease High School originally committed to LSU back in June, choosing the Tigers over offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, Tennessee, and others.

For more info on Sheffer, visit his profile page on our 2018 Recruiting Tracker.

You've got to make the "L" with the right hand for it to work correctly. You can do it with the left if you turn your palm in. We don't want to be representing with a backwards "L" do we? Hope you much success, young man! Goooooooooo Tigers!

The only reason he is a 3 star id because he committed to LSU quite some time ago. Had he committed to Bama they would have bumped him up to a 5 star months ago. I'm glad LSU focuses on talent, not stars from media outlets that probably have never seen these guys play.

University of Memphis also has a live tiger mascot; however, they claim on their website to be the only Division 1 Football team with a live tiger mascot so screw them.

Happy to see tight ends finally get utilized in our offenses the past two seasons. Amazing how someone else at the offensive controls can make these guys relevant and part of the game plan. Geaux Tigers.

TE’s have always been a safety valve for a young QB and a lethal weapon for a savvy veteran. I an glad to see the guys going after a good one. The kid has offers from some major programs. Can’t wait to see Brennan and Narcisse rolling down the field with this guy! And how bout a little credit for O,Rob, and Slinger? These guys are in a different state every day! Props to Mickey Joesph as well! I think we know who the top recruiters are, and that’s fine. Everyone has a defined role on the team. I think Canada and Aranda are more of development and coaching than recruiting. And that’s fine. O and Co. bring in the beef, Coach Aranda and Canada coach em up! Oh yeah, as always, a shout out to Coach Raymond! Stud at recruiting and coaching! A true Tiger for life!

Kid comes from Tebow's HS. Does Nease compete for State titles on the reg?

Yes, Tebow played ball there. But for academics he was home-schooled.

Hopefully, he can continue to display his pass catching skills @ LSU. Where so many TE's before him have failed, not necessarily, their fault.

It’s odd not to see Canada in any of these type of pics.

Exactly my thoughts. I’ll check out Dandy Don. Maybe Canada is off with another big one.

He's a three star that's heavily sought after. I think the top programs in the country see something that the recruiting services don't.
