While visiting LSU this weekend, offensive lineman Cole Smith from Pontotoc, MS received an offer from the coaching staff and committed on the spot. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

He received his offer from LSU and immediately committed.

"I love it down here," Smith said Saturday evening. "The facilities are phenomenal and the coaches are awesome."

LSU envisions Smith as a center at the collegiate level.

The 6-4, 275-pound lineman from Pontotoc HS chose LSU over offers from Oregon, Tulane, Southern Miss, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, and others.

He is LSU's 10th verbal commit for the class of 2018.

Welcome Cole. Don't worry about star rankings. That will come later. Coach O and staff only offer quality players, and I know they have a strength and conditioning plan that will benefit Cole as well. That's the way Tigers!

Hope he sticks and doesn't pull a "Matt Womack" (From Hernando Mississippi) at the last minute and switch to Alabama. We need Centers badly?
