In just one week, LSU went from 12 verbal commitments to 17 and took a major jump in the 2019 team rankings.
Thing got started last Wednesday when fIve-star blue chip CB Derek Stingley Jr. gave his verbal pledge to LSU, picking the Tigers over Texas and Florida.
LSU's Elite HS Football Camp, which started on Thursday, brought plenty of talented prospects to campus and gave the coaching staff a chance to dish out new offers, which resulted in four new commitments.
The Tigers found their quarterback for the 2019 class in the form of four-star dual-threat prospect Peter Parrish who worked out for the coaching staff on Thursday and committed on Friday. Parrish, a 6-1, 198-pound prospect from Phenix City, AL (Central) is rated the No. 4 overall dual-threat passer in the class of 2019, according to ESPN.
Later on Friday night, the coaching staff landed a commitment from JUCO tight end T.K. McClendon who plays at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Miss. McClendon is LSU's lone TE for the 2019 class.
The Tigers wrapped up the weekend by receiving a commitment from four-star JUCO defensive back Dreshun Miller (Eastern Arizona) and flipping Auburn cornerback commit Cordale Flott from Saraland, AL.
The major week in recruiting for LSU moved the Tigers up to No. 3 in the country, according to the 247 team rankings behind only Alabama and Texas A&M. Rivals has LSU as the No. 6 class in the county.
The Tigers have a chance to jump even higher in the rankings by adding some of the following recruits who are major targets for the coaching staff.
5-star DT Ishmael Sopsher from Amite, LA
4-star RB Noah Cain from Denton, TX
4-star WR Devonta Lee from Amite, LA
4-star WR Trey Palmer from Kentwood, LA
4-star ATH Christian Harris from Baton Rouge, LA
4-star LB Donte Starks from New Orleans, LA
