Former LSU shooting guard Antonio Blakeney had an outstanding summer league game for the Chicago Bulls Tuesday night, leading the team in scoring with 23 points on 9-17 shooting, including scoring all of the Bulls’ points in the 3rd quarter. He also recorded eight rebounds.

Here are some of the highlights.

I actually agree with most everything you said BigTimer23. Although I have no dislike towards Simmons. I don't know the man. My comments are based on his apparent lack of inspiring his teammates to a higher level. Much like Cleveland with Lebron. He makes his teammates play harder. I just don't see this with Simmons. In fact, it appeared to me the team gave up early in the season. Blakeney, on the other hand, seemed to give it his all every game and the team played well around him. That said, I'm glad this chapter of Tiger basketball is over and I look forward to Coach Wade building a solid program with talented players and leaders in the locker room! Geaux Tigers!

My point is Simmons garnered all the attention and took the spotlight away from other players. Not his fault, mind you. The media runs rampant with some things and Simmons was one of them. I feel that Blakeney will have a better career than Simmons. Sorry, but I'm just not impressed with Ben.

Right, nothing impressive at all about one of the greatest statistical seasons for a freshman in the history of college basketball. I totally understand how people feel like he was more concerned with himself than LSU or the rest of his team, but it is beyond me how you could watch the kid play and not be impressed. I don't understand the difficulty in not being his biggest fan personally while at the same time recognizing how talented he is. Saying you feel Blakeney will have a better career makes it clear you've let your personal like for one and disdain for the other affect what should be an objective basketball assessment.

Agreed. I really liked Blakeney and wish him the best. Would have definitely been an All American this year and possibly last if not for the Ben Simmons fiasco!

I love Blakeney and am happy to see him playing well, but the "Ben Simmons Fiasco" was what kept him from being an All American? That's just nonsense
