VCU and LSU will begin a home-and-home series as part of Will Wade’s buyout with the Rams, according to Jon Rothstein.

It has not been determined yet as to when the series will begin. Per FanRagSports.com:

As part of the agreement to be VCU’s head basketball coach, it contractually states that if you leave to take a high-major job you must return as part of a home-and-home series with your existing team.

This is why the Rams hosted Shaka Smart and Texas on Tuesday night and why Anthony Grant and Jeff Capel returned to Richmond with both Alabama and Oklahoma, respectively. Grant and Capel preceded Smart as Rams head coach.

Wade left VCU last spring to take his current position in Baton Rouge.

I was watching Texas at VCU couple nights ago and they said if you coach at VCU and you leave you have to come back with your new team and play. I was wondering if LSU was going to do that too.

That's an awesome contract feature. Great way to pay it forward. Wow, every now and then there is a surprise left out there that's good.

That's a great contract stipulation but it's meant to breath life into the VCU program, I'm not sure that' the case here. Either way its awesome.

VCU has had 105 straight sellouts. Their program is doing fine.

Actually fantastic idea for the mid major because it boosts SOS.

And generates revenue. I have no problem with this; unless we lose! Lol

It would probably boost LSU's SOS more than VCU's at this point.
