LSU Takes Down South Carolina In Columbia, 86-80

Was at the game. Thought LSU played well and was the better team. They tried to let SC back in it at the end but the better team won last night. Gamecocks had too many turnovers and cant hit FTs. LSU was lights out from 3.

Man the people in these basketball threads talking about how WW isn’t a good coach have to be the sheep in wolves clothing that the good book talks about. Goodness gracious you’re a flipping moron if you don’t think he’s done a phenomenal job to this point. He’s turned a bottom feeder LSU basketball program into one of the top 4 teams in the SEC and is coaching these guys into a tournament appearance after all the BS that went on last year. This team is missing major contributions at the rim and lacks depth that is preferred to make a good run. He’s going to get us back there and likely win it all before he leaves. He remains an attractive coach at a prestigious university. We got major publicity from our football program and believe it or not he can actually take advantage of this and I think he will. LSU wasn’t even expected to perform this well before the season and we are surpassing all expectations imo. We were a bubble team prior to the season and now if we win the games we should, we could be in a position to make a little run if we get hot. If they start playing like a team and shots start to fall, we’ll be a tough out. Ask Kentucky, Auburn or anyone else we’ve beaten. It’s the same with baseball, people judge entirely too soon and with entirely too many expectations. I think Paul’s seat is now warming up and on the fringe of getting hot but they can still turn it all around and get really hot which will translate into the entire team. Pitching, hitting and defense as well as coaching. I believe Paul’s issue is coaching too much instead of letting instincts of the game come to them. Don’t pull the trigger too early but know when it’s time. He gets really nervous and uptight and that trickles down into the players and his assistants. They start playing tight and anxious instead of letting the game come to them. They simply need to take a deep breath, exhale and have some fun while kicking some butt. It’s a young talented baseball team and at some point it’s going to click and when it does they’ll be really tough to beat. Patience little grasshoppers. Let’s learn to crawl before we leap and let’s learn to leap before we fly. “We comin”.
