LSU Hoops Defeats New Orleans 93-58

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU Men’s Basketball win over New Orleans, 93-58, on Monday night inside the Pete Matavich Assembly Center.
The Tigers advance to 2-0 overall while New Orleans falls to 2-1 on the season.
In the first half, LSU was able to build a dozen-point lead by shooting 15-of-39 (38.5%) from the field. The Tigers also sank five three-pointers to extend their lead to 44-32.
In the second half, the Tigers extended their lead by 35 points, connecting on 16-of-32 (50%) on the floor, while UNO was nearly 27 percent. LSU also knocked down nearly 42% percent from the three-point range and converted 12-of-16 (75%) at the free throw line.
LSU center Michael Nwoko earned 22 points, leading the Tigers in scoring on 9-of-13 shooting along with five rebounds. In addition to Nwoko, three other Tigers scored in double figures including Marque Sutton and Jalen Reed with 15 points, and Pablo Tamba with 10 points.
Jakevion Buckley was the leading scorer for the Privateers, finishing with 12 points on 3-of-13 shooting and five-of-eight from the free throw line.
The Tigers are back in action on Thursday, November 13 as they return home to face Florida International. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. CT inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
