Yahoo Sports writer Pat Forde spoke with LSU athletic director Joe Alleva on Wednesday and the two discussed Johnny Jones' job security as the head coach of the basketball team.

Alleva confirmed what many have already reported, saying that Jones will be back next year as head coach.

LSU finished with a 19-14 record this past season and missed the NCAA Tournament. Jones is 80-51 all-time as head coach at LSU.

Blakeney has the chance to be star in the sec. A player with the true chance to gain a million dollars to his signing bonus if he come back for one more. He became my favorite player to watch after this year. Jones being canned gonna have a bunch to do if Blakeney stats for one more or not. Then again wouldn't be his first year to fail with stud talent instead could possibly become his third season in a row to fail with great talent.

It's disgusting that he ever got another job after that disgraceful act. He should be shunned.

Bc he can't recruit. Class coming in might be lucky to place in top 50. Some great recruiter JJ is. He was suppose to help secure louisiana recruits and has only landed two noteable in his time with lsu. Every year numerous 4 star recruits are being lost to Texas A&M UMass and other coaches with state connections. But JJ was suppose to control the AAU scene in louisiana and the recruiting as a result. Lame! Quarterman suppose to declare for NBA as well. For Quarterman being a guard to shoot 65% from free throw is unacceptable. He would ride the bench for an actual basketball coach.

"LSU is broke.....why would they fire anyone. This sure does not come as a surprise."

The university doesn't pay for AD expenses. The university doesn't gain one penny by firing/not firing a coach. It is literally mutually exclusive. Of course that doesn't stop so-called educators from ignoring this for their political gain.
