Dick Vitale Trashes LSU Coach Will Wade On Twitter

As you all know by now, Yahoo Sports published a report Thursday regarding LSU head coach Will Wade and his phone conversation with basketball middleman Christian Dawkins.

On the call, which was recorded on an FBI wiretap, Wade mentioned "an offer" and expressed frustration about a players commitment.

Many among the sports media have come forward to voice their opinion on the report and some have even suggested that LSU should fire Wade and skip the NCAA Tournament.

The latest to give their take on the subject is College Basketball commentator Dick Vitale, who trashed Wade on Twitter for “disgraceful” comments on the wiretap.

Vitale speaks the truth; it's obvious that Wade has been involved in some shady business. However, as long as the Tigers keep winning, LSU will be willing to overlook it, unless their hand is forced.

USA Today article Vitale linked is crap. Calling to suspend/fire Wade and for LSU to skip the tournament. I'll trust LSU compliance department to do their own investigating and make the right decision. Because if we listen to USA Today, then Wade/LSU eventually get cleared of any violations by the NCAA then we're going to look really stupid for suspending our coach and skipping the tourney with the best team LSU has fielded in at least the past 20 years.

For what it's worth he is getting crucified on his post for his hypocrisy. NCAA Basketball is as crooked as it comes and they don't like "new money" coming in disrupting things. They will make an example out of LSU to keep up the illusion that they don't condone cheating.

The NCAA had proof that UNC created fake classes, grades, etc. to keep players eligible and nothing happened. LSU would be dumb to discipline Wade. Let the NCAA do their thing and then when no punishment is handed down (also see: Sean Miller and Arizona), then you didn't blow your best chance at a deep tourney run in the last 10-15 years.
