Former LSU star pitcher Paul Skenes continues to impress in the big leagues.

On Wednesday, Skenes notched his 200th strikeout of the season while facing the Baltimore Orioles.


Skenes threw five complete innings against the Orioles, striking out 8 and allowing just 2 hits and 0 earned runs. He was removed early after a season low of 64 pitches, and the Orioles ended up winning 2-1 on a walk-off single in the 10th inning.

He’ll never set yearly/season records because unlike the pitchers in the 20th century, they will rarely let him go 9 innings. However, that should extend his longevity so he might be able to hit some career stats and records and, hopefully, make a shite-ton of money.

FIVE Pirate starters last night hitting .200 or below. The other 4 hitting under .260. Pathetic. Pirates are last in MLB in scoring and 6th in runs allowed.
