LSU Baseball head coach Paul Mainieri spoke to the media on Thursday and announced the starting pitching rotation for opening weekend, which is a little different than what he projected at the end of January.

Mainieri will stick with junior RHP Zach Hess vs. the Warhawks on Friday night and freshman RHP Landon Marceaux vs. Army on Saturday but will start freshman RHP Jaden Hill on Sunday vs. Air Force, instead of sophomore RHP Eric Walker.

Freshman RHP Cole Henry will start vs. Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday and Walker will start vs. Northwestern State Wednesday.

Here is a look at Friday's lineup vs. ULM, according to Mainieri:

Here is the complete schedule for opening weekend at Alex Box Stadium, which includes four non-LSU Baseball games that are free admission. Per LSUSports.net:

The stadium will be cleared whenever LSU is playing the second game of the day, and fans will need the proper ticket to be admitted to each game involving LSU.

UL-Monroe at LSU, 7 p.m. CT

Saturday, Feb. 16:

I don't remember Broussard hitting so early in the lineup last year. Am I wrong?

He started last year at 8 or 9 and then hit 2nd a few games before SEC league play started. After injury, he returned to 2 for a few games then was put back at 9 for rest of season.

He won’t be part of the weekend rotation but I’m sure he will the first one out of the bullpen in middle innings.
