Eric Walker, who left Monday night's game vs Oregon State in the 3rd inning with forearm tightness, is likely done for the remainder of the College World Series, according to Paul Mainieri who spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon.

Mainieri also added that Caleb Gilbert, who replaced Walker on Monday night, would start Saturday's game if the Tigers advance.

Jared Poche will start Wednesday's game vs. Florida State. If the Tigers win, Alex Lange would face Oregon State on Friday. With another LSU win, Gilbert would be on the mound Saturday vs. Oregon State.

Feel bad for Eric. Liked him from Day 1. Wouldn't be here without him. He'll be back next year. I have no doubt. This team is resilient and is capable of bouncing back. I don't know if they will, but they have proven me wrong many times this season. I wouldn't mind being wrong again. I agree on Hess for #3 starter, should we advance that far. I also have no problem with Gilbert, as he has pitched well as of late. Good luck to the Bulldog today against FSU! A win keeps us alive and sets the all time wins record! Geaux for it Jared!

I say go with Hess instead of Gilbert.

Say good night Gracie! How quickly things change. From three solid starters to a staff in shambles for the championship series, even with wins in the next three games. It was fun. How long until BYU?

I suspect off season surgery, two areas affected.. The young man will bounce back, fortunately it's not a shoulder. Thanks for memories in 2017

I feel horrible for Eric. He had an exceptional year. We're going to need someone to step up big time. Is it Bain? Peterson? Bush?

I hope Walker doesn't need TJ surgery or something else serious like that. I hope it's truly just a muscle pull or tightness.
