Concur, I get it. At this age you don't want a shoe box zone as games could last for hours, but expanding the zone that far is so counterproductive and egregious to quality baseball.
That ump should be sent home. I wonder if the umps get rated by the coaches after the games? They do that at the Ripken facilities for all of their tourneys.
