In the video, Donnell is shown removing one Marfa football player from the group. Donnell is then seen grabbing another Marfa football player by the front of his jersey and pulling the 17-year-old to the ground.

After the fight was broken up, authorities on the scene went to both team’s camera operators to see if they recorded the alleged assault. The Sanderson camera operator had no footage; however, the Marfa operator had a clear shot of the assault.

Once they reviewed the video, Marfa authorities took Donnell into custody around 10:03 p.m.
Donnell is facing a Class A misdemeanor assault charge.

Don't necessarily agree with the arrest but coaches have no businees putting their hands on opposing ballplayers period. Get your own players off the pile and seperate em...not your job to deal with opposing players. You can see the Marfa coach rightfully going after em.

That kid was subjected to FAR more violence on about 50 plays of that game.....and by fellow teenagers vs a 61 year old man. Plus, Texas law allows the use of reasonable force to defend a third person from violence and slinging a fully padded teen is not unreasonable. As a 21 year police veteran I'm calling not guilty, and I'm sure that any jury will see it that way as well. When you engage in a brawl, sometimes brawl things happen.

Dang! Looked like that last kid took flopping classes from Jamal Adams. Coach barely slung him around and he goes into a full somersault? Suspect.

So, by breaking up a fight on the field you get arrested ! He pulled people off the pile ! He didn't beat or attack anyone ! What's up ?

warranted when you consider how he moved the first kid that appears to be white and actually engaged in the scrum. At the point where he threw the 2nd kid (black) he wasn't even in the pile. He's lucky they pressed charges as opposed to a dad getting hands on him.
