Alabama CB Maurice Smith Locker Gets Trashed After Telling coach Nick Saban He Wants To Transfer

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Alabama CB Maurice Smith had his locker trashed after telling head coach Nick Saban he was transferring. Smith says Saban said he wouldn’t release him from his scholarship unless he transferred out of the Southeastern Conference.

On Friday, June 17, I arrived at the athletic facility locker room to find my locker cleaned out and all of my personal belongings in the trash (photo attached) underneath trash,” Maurice Smith wrote. “These personal items included my family photos, written goals, inspirational and sentimental items memorializing my deceased former friend, roommate and teammate, Altee Tenpenny, and items of personal value from my former teammates.

Smith even provided photos to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that they did not publish, as well as this text message from a redacted source within the program..

I would normally say that the school should start an investigation by interviewing players and staff who have had run ins with law enforcement but college only lasts 4 years.
