used to live right by Charlie's, the moon was a great sandwich
This thread has depressed me. All I want is a moon now. I want my playing card instead of a number and my half moon split with my dad and a bag of either BBQ zaps or original zapps tossed with crystal.
frick.

The Woody Allen at Carnegie Deli at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Not my pic but that is close to the one I ate.

Lots of muffulettas are up there, but I really liked the Joe's Special at The Library just across Chimes from campus.
It was a muffuletta, but with roast beef and Swiss instead of the normal meat and cheese. Still had the olive salad. The saltiness made the taste so great!

Blackened redfish poboy from a now defunct restaurant. I mourn the loss of that place.

Roast beef poboy at pirate's cove in Pass Christian. Growing up they had a place on the beach but Katrina forced them to move and it just isn't the same anymore. Maybe it's just the nostalgia going there after a day at the beach.

Streetcar Sandwiches on Carrollton. I read the whole list planning to post the same thing.
Other notables:
-My first Ferdi about 1975
-A pastrami and rye from some joint on Wacker Dr. in Chicago. It was piled high with the tenderest, melt in your mouth pastrami I've ever had, on perfectly toasted rye.

Grouper sandwich - seagrove village market/George's
This may just be due to the fact that I love that area.

Hard to beat a well made Thanksgiving Day sandwich on Texas Toast bread or a fresh loaf of Leidenheimer's.

Gotta be the Home grown tomato, on fresh bread with, in the early days Blue Plate mayonnaise, as of late Duke's. Nothing better.

Merridee's Breadbasket in Franklin has the best sandwiches anywhere. But I personally love their chicken salad or French dip. But they are all delicious.

I'll also add an American cheese & Hellman's mayo sandwich on soft white bread, preferably accompanied by a bowl of tomato soup. If I were on Death Row Id likely choose that as my final meal.
