Lovecchio's Deli makes a sandwich called a Matt Stephen that is pretty damn close to perfection. IMO

The Moon from Charlie's. It's an old sandwich place on Lakeview that's been closed for over 10 years now. But It's hands down the best sandwich ever and I miss it all the time with a side of BBQ zapps.

The moon was fresh cut honey ham, roast beef, provolone, Swiss cheese and sloppy coleslaw covered in Russian Dressing all heaped on a muffaletta bun. I have not been able to replicate that sandwich as much as I've tried. They must've made their own coleslaw. I wonder who owned that place.

Anyone else ever get Mooned?

There used to be a place called the Whistler's Walk in Gulf Breeze, FL. For a while, they had a sandwich called the Loadie that I still dream about. Real French bread, with cheese that melted into the bread, roast beef and a barbeque type sauce dripping out, wrapped in butcher paper.

Their muffulettas are the best I've ever had also.

New place in Orange Beach called Anchor Bar and Grill. It's an old wooden ship they turned into a restaurant. There's like 13 items on the menu.
Their Cuban sandwich is the best in America.
Hands down.

Is this the same Lovecchio's that was in Lakeview pre-Katrina? They had the GOAT chicken parm po-boy.

China Sea Shrimp Po Boy in Buras, LA before Katrina. Great bread, good fresh shrimp with a decent fry seasoning, and loaded down with shrimp. Plus the damn thing was several feet long.

Think they reopened, but I don't go down that way since Katrina.

Not sure if it was as good as I remember it to be, but because it's no longer available, the Roma Special at Café Roma at Sherwood Forest Boulevard.

Triple threat pork sandwich in San Diego at Carnitas Snack Shack. It's Pork loin schnitzel, pulled pork, bacon, pepperoncini relish, and shack aioli.

Good stuff!

Besides that would have to go with Cochon Butcher's sandwiches. The buckboard bacon melt and Gambino is top notch.

For a poboy, a while back at O'Brien's Grille. They used to have a irish dip. House cooked corned beef and shaved prime rib with a house made horseradish sauce and au jus for dipping. Not sure if they offer it still since they changed chefs.

Seems most of my favorite sandwhiches have been in Ruston.

Patty melt at Dawghouse
Buffalo chicken at Sundown
Brisket at Downlings/Bristers

All on jalapeno bread of course
