re: McCain survival rate is approximately 4% - C-Bear
My husband's cousin had the same type of brain tumor. She was treated by docs at Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson. They stayed with us for some of her treatments in TX. She lasted about 18-20 months and was blind by the end....

re: Mole Chicken - C-Bear
Offshore Angler and SuperSaint, Yes, I'm white, so guilty as charged. The OP asked for a way that was easy to prepare, which is exactly what I gave him. The point I was attempting to make was that I had in fact made it this way before and people of Hispanic descent still enjoyed it when prepared t...

re: Mole Chicken - C-Bear
We had some neighbors and the wife was Hispanic, note I live in TX. Anyway, she taught me to just buy the jar stuff at the store, add some of the broth from poaching the chicken, pieces of bread until it thickens to how you want, and here comes the weird part, about a tablespoon of peanut butter. ...

re: Man steals backhoe, uses it to break into ATM - C-Bear
It's been done before in Texarkana, except with a forklift and a stolen U-haul truck. Knock over the ATM, lift with forklift, place in back of U-haul, then drive away. ...

re: Bank Account Transfers - C-Bear
Federal regulations state you can only transfer six times per month from your savings to your checking. My bank doesn't count it against the six if you make the transfer at the ATM or inside the branch....

re: I figured out why Texas High School students are "better" students - C-Bear
I don't know what school/district has a failing grade all the way down to a 37. Anything below a 70 in our district is failing. That's why the max grade for a retake on a regular test is a 70....

re: I figured out why Texas High School students are "better" students - C-Bear
This is not a policy at my son's TX high school. However, for a regular test, if you fail, you can retake the test for a maximum score of 70, but only after attending mandatory tutoring. Also, the same test is not given the second time....

re: Beef Stew Accompaniment of Choice? - C-Bear
Cornbread. When my husband and I were dating and I made cornbread as the side he thought it was weird that I didn't serve it with rice. Now, when I ask what he would prefer, he always wants cornbread....

re: Saban at Dunham in Baton Rouge - C-Bear
I was told by a student that it was a "sad" situation (their words). Saban was supposedly there to meet with a senior, but it was really only to be introduced to Williams and Stinley. Followed by, "He's just trying to catch up with Coach O because he was here weeks ago."...

re: Charleston, SC Restaurants - C-Bear
We've been to all of those places mentioned in your post, plus a few mentioned by others(Cru Cafe and High Cotton). All were great. Poogan's Porch isn't bad, but it's been around for awhile. 82 Queen was recommended, but we've never been. If they're looking for a good lunch spot, I'd recommend t...
