Well, actually, LSU fans are the laughing stock of the country. Pathetic response to coach caught red handed.
"CB- Patrick Peterson
S- Tyrann Mathieu
S- Jamal Adams
CB- Tre White
LB- Kwon Alexander
LB- Deion Jones
LB- Kendall Beckwith
Nickel- Jalen Mills "

All very good players.
I'd put Back 7 from FSU right up there with the LSU unit---maybe even above them.

DB : Jalen Ramsey (Jags)
DB : Xavier Rhodes ( Vikings)
DB : Ronald Darby ( Eagles)
DB : Lamarcus Joyner ( Rams)
LB : Nigel Bradham ( Eagles)
LB : Telvin Smith ( Jags)
LB : Vince Williams ( Steelers)
Nickel : Patrick Robinson ( Eagles) [/quote]
Ridiculous to think that LSU would have beaten Clemson. LSU was 1 and 4 against ranked teams. The only ranked team they beat, Louisville, was a shadow of the team they were earlier in the year. They lost to Kentucky in their last game at home. LSU would have been beaten soundly by Clemson.
Careful what you wish for. FSU is much improved since 1st half of season. They lead the country in red zone offense. How is LSU in that department? They also lead the NCAA in sacks. That said, I think it would be a very good game and would love to see it.
But I do think FSU has slight edge over Louisville for Orange Bowl to play Michigan. If that doesn't happen, let's hope it's Noles and Tigers in Citrus.

That argument is so tired. Championships > liking your boss. Kiffin is trying to get another high profile HC job. You think it's smarter for him to stay at Bama or take a massive risk to come to LSU to achieve that goal?

I'll provide an example of the poor coaching these kids were receiving in Bowden's latter years, one that many on this board may be familliar with. When Patrick Robinson, a 1st round draft choice, first came to the Saints, the DC Greg Williams said after the first week(paraphrased), " The kid Robinson has a lot of skills but he doesn't know how to play football", a not so veiled swipe at the coaching he had received in college. Fortunately, Robinson does have a lot of skills and has developed into a solid NFL corner. The coaching (teaching) has significantly improved under Fisher and his staff. So let Fisher have 3 years before you really judge him as a coach.

JMO elite coaches who walked into situations with talent and no coaching turned it around on the spot in more competitive conferences-Bob Stoops went undefeated and won NC in his second year, in his second year at each program Nick Saban at LSU won the SEC, and at bama he went 12-0 in the regular season and the next year won an NC, Urban Meyer second year was a 1 loss NC, Jim Tressell went undefeated with an NC in his 2nd year. The elite guys have been able to win on the spot when the previous guy had brought in talent but didnt develop it. I wont write Jimbo off just yet but IMO, as an outsider, in the ACC he should be doing better with the talent he walked into.

I feel you on elite coaches. The talent that you keep talking about that Jimbo walked into was not all that. Those top classes had a lot of at risk kids and they either didn't make it on campus or flunked out before they could hit the field. Add a lot of poor coaching and under developed kids by our lack of a functional S&C nutrition program with a Defense learning a new D in 2010. I did see improvement with some of Bobby's recruits that bought into Jimbo's program. I can agree with you that he may not be an elite coach right now, but I'll settle for a good coach going into his 3rd full season.
