re: Does the Big 12 allow their teams to sell tickets on Groupon?

Kansas groupon special
Baylor had some $25 season ticket passes back in July. Baylor is one of the few colleges where the locals despise the college. It may have something to do with Baylor outreach programs that only repairs and paints the houses on the street to the football stadium.
I lived in that dump of a town called Waco. I know Robert Flores of ESPN from his time at the local CBS station in Waco. He couldn't wait to move on.

San Diego State is actually closer to Austin than BYU
The AD from SDSU tweeted that fact earlier. Austin is also the furtherest south of any state capitol in the lower 48.

My senior year was the last year of the SWC. Many wanted to look at the SEC at that time. We were blocked from looking out for ourselves.
I view it more as untangling the political mess known as the Big 12. Bevo was blocked from their PAC dream. The Big 12 was a creation of ABC combining a low population conference with a big population state with Texas politicians forcing in teams.
Deloss Dodds PAC 16 dream reignited the A&M dream of the SEC which quieted for a year and then reemerged.

The Texas legislature started the biennial session in January which was over in June. It will not reconvene until January 2013.
The Longhorn Network having the ability to pick which "tier 3" game(s) to broadcast before the season starts. This season Tech, Baylor, OSU, K State and Missouri were approached before Kansas accepted.
When TCU was invited the Austin Statesman mentioned that 2 to 3 conference games would be on the Longhorn Network next season.
Good luck with competitive interest in the Tier 1 rights in a couple of years when a third of the Longhorn games will be called Tier 3.
