Dried mushrooms around BR?

Posted by TigerDocLSU on 10/18/24 at 9:22 am
I’ve been using dried mushrooms in a few dishes to give a little umami punch to things like chicken stock. I always got them from Winn Dixie, but since they closed I haven’t been able to find them anywhere. No luck at Rouses or Walmart. Anybody know where to find them around town?
You do realize the early Christians were eating meat that was literally sacrificed to pagan gods and the Bible explicitly states that’s fine to do as long as you could do it in good conscience. I have a feeling you’d be pretty pissed at Paul if you were around back then.
She’s was on the way back from picking them up from the grandparents. But my lazy arse was at home having a beer.

But they were never dumb enough to leave me in the car and leave the car running. That's nuts.

When you remote start the car it cannot be put into gear.

First it was 5 minutes, now it's 3 minutes

it was never 5 minutes. learn to read baw
Some of you are real helicopter parents huh? Both of my kids are very mature and know to never unlock the door for anyone. And guess what... sometimes... I don't make them wear a helmet when they ride their bikes.
she saw my wife getting out of the car when she was getting in hers. she knew exactly how long it was
for literally 3 minutes in a nice neighborhood where you can see the car from the check-out line? were you that sheltered as a kid?
Wife (no pics) went into Winn Dixie for 3 minutes to get a single roll of aluminum foil. She left our boys (8 and 5) and our golden retriever (2) in the car with the AC running. She used remote start and took the keys with her. She didn’t want to bring them in because she was only getting 1 item and people look at you weird when you bring kids into the store during COVID.

When she got back to the car she was flagged down by a Karen who told her she just called the cops bc she is endangering our children by leaving them in the car unattended. Karen knows they could die from heat stroke because she “used to be a paramedic”. My wife the ICU nurse (again no pics) looks at Karen like she’s a tard and says “with the AC running?” Karen informed her that it is still against the law and she’ll be in big trouble when the cops show up. She told my wife “Don’t even think about driving off because I have your license number!”

A minute later the cop shows up and the first thing he does is roll his eyes and say “I hate stupid people.” He then proceeds to tell Karen how she’s an idiot and wasting everybody’s time and that my wife did nothing wrong and that if she had brought the kids in the store she’d probably bitch that my wife was exposing the kids to COVID. Defeated, Karen returns to her vehicle without apologizing for being a nosy dumbass and drives away.

How old does the OT think kids Should be to be left alone in an air conditioned car for a few minutes? Also, would my wife had been wrong to just tell Karen to frick off and drive home without waiting for the cops?
I have an unashamed fondness for Hercules the legendary journeys and highlander the series. Will I like Voyager or Deep space 9 more?

Nerds, Craft My Star Trek Lineup

Posted by TigerDocLSU on 8/1/19 at 8:46 pm
I’ve always been a devoted fan of Firefly and Star Wars. The Last Jedi has made me jaded and bitter. After years of making fun of you Trekkies, please take this as my formal apology. I want to venture into your world.

I know who Kirk, Spock, and Picard are. That’s the limit of my Trekkie knowledge. Where should I start? Craft the ideal order of movies/series for me. I want to skip the boring crap and keep it fun. I don’t want to be proficient at Star Trek trivia, I just want to enjoy the highlights of a series you hold dear.

tl;dr: what’s the most fun order for a newcomer to watch Star Trek?
Played a good bit of original borderlands and liked it. So if I only had time to play the pre-sequel or borderlands 2, which one should I go with?

I love it. One of the best decisions I have made was starting and getting my kids to start too. Great workout. Great community.
Seems like if nothing else it would need even more protection. You know... because of the giant fricking hole.
So... the answer is to ignore it? Not sure what point you are trying to make.
To give you the benefit of the doubt, let’s say everything you just wrote was true. After all the shite that went down with wildlings, white walkers, and wights, you think everyone would be cool with leaving the border unprotected? They’d all say, “cool. Job all done. Let’s leave that border wall open now.”
I think the point of the nights watch was to protect the southern kingdom(s) from any threats from beyond the wall (the unknown). Did they know that white walkers even existed before the first couple seasons?
Why would the wall belong to the north? Just because of geography? Part of the reason those who served on the wall had to make an oath and revoke their lineage was to be independent of the petty game of thrones to the south so they could independently protect without fealty getting in the way. I don’t know why that would change now.
Are you sure the wall is ruled over by the north? Seems like a lot of people were sent to the wall from the south if I recall correctly. I thought it was an independent entity.
What purpose would you want? Maybe the lord of light is a fickle god in a pantheon of gods who does whatever the hell he wants in the affairs of men from time to time. Was he supposed to manifest himself incarnate and fight somebody? I don’t know what answer you want.
