Yep. And that’s exactly the type of truck I’m looking for. Figured someone on this board may no longer have a need for one so figured it’s worth a shot.

The 5.7 V8 can go to 500,000+ miles with relatively minor maintenance. Those engines are amazing. My Sequoia had 220,000 and was running fine when I sold it. I only ever changed the oil and other wear items (brakes, etc.).

I’m not trying to convince anyone to sell their truck. Everything is for sale at a price premium.

Yeah. That’s me. My sierra needed a new engine at 10k miles. Had a couple other random issues too, so GM agreed to buy it back. Not making that mistake twice, which is why I’m going back to that 5.7 V8.

2016-2021 Tundra

Posted by mick504 on 6/28/26 at 12:22 pm
Longtime lurker but not a poster. I’m looking for a used Tundra between 2016-2021. I know how to use cars.com, etc. and FB marketplace so I’m looking in all the typical places so don’t need anyone to send me links. I saw a post yesterday about someone thinking of getting rid of his 2016, and it made me think to post and see if anyone else might also be about to get rid of theirs. And I know that these trucks are a favorite of people on here.

I’m open to a wide range of models/mileage in the 2016-2021 model years. My unicorn would be a 2020 or 2021 TRD Pro. Stock is preferred. Backstory is I had a Sequoia 5.7 V8 for almost 10 years and loved it. Got the new car itch so got a new Sierra about a year ago. While it’s OK, it hasn’t been trouble free and I miss the 5.7 V8. So looking to into an older Tundra. I’m in St. Tammany, but willing to travel a good distance (out of state too) for the right one.

If you have something and have considered selling/trading in, let me know. You can post here or send me an email. Email is these three words/number together “northshore” and “gardener” and “11” - no spaces. It’s a gmail account.

Also, if anyone has any particular years to avoid, drop that knowledge on me!

Those 2.5 gen Tundras with the 5.7 are rock solid. I had a Sequoia with that engine and should never have gotten rid of it. So I fully understand the desire to hold onto it.

If you were to sell it, I would be interested depending on trim level and mileage. Been looking for a 2021 and older model for awhile that has been well maintained and haven’t found one I like. And when I do, it’s always a day or two too late and it has already sold.
