You do realize that Dartmouth doesnt give baseball scholarships..
Are you basing that on first hand knowledge??
I just read all 9 pages of this thread and while some of it is funny, some is dissapointing.
I can tell you that it is about time for the bat change. It may not be as exciting for fans, but it is not as dangerous for pitchers.. it also has the side benefit of allowing pitchers to pitch inside more-- it makes the game closer to the pro game. While some may not like that, it does reduce one major argument that MLB uses when recruiting pitchers-- that pitchers dont learn to pitch inside and learn to establish a fastball in college.
Minden has a very weak team this year,,Leppert wont be able to show as much as Prescott as he will be running for his life,, but those who look closely will see a good QB who can play at the next level.. Prescott is a shorter JJ,, slings it,,but not the football player that Leppert is.

Talked to his dad yesterday, Garin wont be released until Aug 15th,so until then, negotiations may be slow.
He is asking 1.75 mil..

Maybe the coaches are looking beyond the "SEC prototype" QB,, lets face it,, we have one at QB and it is not going too well with him. There are hard to measure intangibles that a player can bring to the table that may not show up in a camp,,,
The ability to make plays may be more important than being 6'5" and running a 4.5 40.
Just sayin..

I can only speak about Leppert..but he has been seen by the coaches. Lepperts father did talk to Ensminger (sp) and he told him that one of the 4 would be offered..
Lepperts father told me about the workout. Hunter is getting alot of looks from medium to large schools. He is coming to LSU workout straight from a workout at SMU.
It sounds like LSU has one more QB scholarship to give and want to give it to an in-state kid.. I guess the QB's are too close to call without seeing them together.

LSU is bringing in Hunter Leppert from Minden, Dak Prescott from Haughton, Stevie Douglas- home schooled, and Zach Oliver- Catholic -- weekend of June 6th for a 2-3 day workout- they will offer one of these kids a scholarship at the end of the workouts..

website?? Maybe can help with some info from other parts of the state
You speak the truth.. Nola was "up to 87" last summer. Few can estimate velocity accurately unless you have a radar gun in your hand alot.. usually most estimate too high- based on how it sounds in catchers mitt etc.. usually if I hear "mid 80's" it is 80-82,, high 80's-- 84-86.

Up to velocity, as opposed to where the majority of the fastballs are two different things.. I would not be surprised if Nola was pitching high 80's to 90 by the time he is as LSU. He has a good pitchers build.
Jones was at the game Sunday vs Arkansas on an official visit..

3 2011's commits were there also.

Evan Powell C Sam Houston
Carson Baranik RHP Parkway
Aaron Johnson LHP Dunham
I saw him in Jupiter lst fall and Garin is a rare blend of size and speed.. your right,, he drops some but clubs still will take a chance on him. Doctors have ACL repair down pretty good and the word is there is no other damage other than ACL. I would imagine that his chances of being on campus go up pretty good.. waiting 3 years to get paid wont hurt this kid.
Have heard from 2 sources that it is a torn ACL

He's not the only one who may not show. kevin Gausman and Bedrosian are both projected 1rst rounders. Jacoby Jones as well..

dont really know. He and my son have played against one another since 7th grade.. and have seen the kid grow up. I know the coaches at Benton and I would hope are doing their part to ensure the kid name gets out. My perception is that he is a bit under the radar at this time.

I was in the stands about 4 years ago when Cent snuck up on LSU in Shreveport. Don't see that heppening this year,, PM too good of a coach,, I suspect he is preparing them to take care of business.

"most all" that will pitch this weekend is what I meant,, obviously some will not even make the trip. The top 5 guys and closer will compete. Obviously beyond that, it will fall off pretty fast.
