Sharp eye, Catman. Hope to see you out there this weekend.
Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, we present the 5 winners of the 2009 contest!

Winners
First Place - BelowMeBama for the rare experience of ruining someone else's Porsche with a total lack of consequences. Next time you ruin a $60,000 sports car, try and have a little more fun with it first.
First Place - Smyrnatiger for a story with all the essential tailgate ingredients: alcohol, body paint, and cold-blooded deception.
First Place - Tigerdup07 for his dedication to gameday tailgating, no matter how far away the tailgate is from the actual game.
First Place - Buck Magnum for his weird story of witnessing a hog getting beat, unfortunately a rare occurrence for LSU fans the last couple of years
First Place - Emorvant for a classic underdog tale, and inspiring young tailgaters everywhere that they, too, can be champions.

Honorable Mentions go to...
Cubsgrace for a heartwarming example of why escalators should be installed in Tiger Stadium
Schwartz and Bond Road for perpetuating the LSU fan stereotype
The Official gets a (dis)honorable mention for the irony of stealing “Gentleman” Jack from innocent, unsuspecting neighbors. A double mention for pretending that it was his friends, not him, who did it.
GeauxDJBack9 for suggesting an alternative motive to Back9Tiger's tale. Depending on who you ask, this hero was injured trying to keep children safe from this oncoming train OR he was risking his life flattening change. Either way, a noble deed.
Nikinik for writing the post that made us the hungriest
Over50Tiger for introducing television technology to the State of Alabama

Winners should e-mail tigerdroppings@gmail.com for information on how to use their prize. If you don't e-mail us, it might take a little longer for us to get in touch with you.

Thanks to everyone who competed. If you're still feeling competitive, we're accepting last-minute registration for the Big Easy BBQ Challenge, the Dixie RV Tailgating Classic, and the Seafood Competition. You can get information on this by calling (504)293-2616. We hope to see you this weekend in New Orleans!
The polls are now closed. Thanks for all the great entries! We'll publicly announce the winners & notify via e-mail by noon tomorrow.

Remember, the festival's this weekend, so even if you don't win feel free to come on out and have a good time.

Definitely a gem. The fish en papillote is absolutely incredible!

re: Cure New Orleans

New Orleans doesn't need to be cured as far as I'm concerned
You should definitely let them know about us. If you think they might be interested in being a vendor, shoot me a message with their contact info and we'll see what we can work up. No such thing as too much BBQ!

re: Homemade Salsa?

Posted by LATailgateAndBBQFest on 8/17/09 at 6:03 pm to
I know it's not homemade, but the closest thing I've found to it that you can get in the store is Jack's Special Salsa. I think they have them at Winn-Dixies but otherwise it's kind of hard to find. Anybody tried it?
Neuxla,

I've updated the information with a list of who will be selling food in addition to the teams competing in the BBQ competition. Thanks for the question and sorry it took so long to get back to you.
