re: Chad says it has nationalized all assets owned by Exxon Mobil

Production has fallen significantly since it first came online. Was over 100k bbl/day at one time. In addition, the oil has a high calcium content with only two refineries being able to process it. One being in Rotterdam (shell) and the other being ExxonMobil refinery in Baton Rouge. The price per bbl had to be heavily discounted to send it anywhere else since it would foul up the other refineries quickly.
Good luck getting that oil to market with only one buyer.

DW40 is a great LB but I didn’t see in any of those videos DW40 chasing down from behind how many folks HP40 has chased down this season as a freshman with his closing speed.

Agree but i believe the Santa Claus rally might have some legs on it. But then again Nvadia reports next Wednesday so the wheels could fall off then.

Yes. It could also drop you into the lower bracket depending how far you are over in terms of gross income for the 32% bracket.
re: Rolling after tax funds from traditional 401K to a Roth
Posted by OilfieldTrash on 4/15/22 at 6:27 pm to Ramblin Wreck
The Man won’t let you convert the full amount to a Roth. He will Post 86 your arse and you will be left with a decision whether to get two checks 1) for your Roth and 2) for your IRA or take one check for the Roth and pay taxes on the increase in ordinary income based on Post 86 earnings. I have done both of them.
Also anyone who is not taking full advantage of this if your employer allows it is missing out.
Key is too max out on IRS limits before meeting IRS contribution income limit for the year.

The day you get a leak in the line or the heater itself and have to replace all drywall and carpeting under that space especially if you were out on vacation then you will never put them in the attic again.
re: Petroleum engineering technology
Posted by OilfieldTrash on 4/3/22 at 5:10 pm to Kyleww1
It’s not an engineering degree so he won’t get offers related to that job field for any majors or independents although I do know of one man who made it big with the tech degree. Schlumberger and Halliburton might take a look as a field engineer but upward mobility will be limited.
Speaking from over 25 years experience, I would tell your son to look into another field or go to an accredited engineering school and take up ChemE or Mechanical.

Good advice already and I’ll add Bastogne, Ypres (Menin Gate memorial every night since the end of WWI), Luxembourg to see Patton’s grave and a few Band of Brothers), Berlin. I lived in The Netherlands for a while and it was cool to ride a bike to a few of the rocket launch sites in the area.

To be fair, if the other option is to have your head coach shirtless in bed with his girl, then that didn’t go anywhere as well.

Figures that I stand corrected. His dad couldn’t hold Tommy Menuet’s jock in high school.

His dad played RB at Assumption High then went to Southern, I believe, to play ball. He was a good back and was a good complement to Tommy Menuet.

AI Trading Software - any recommendations?
Posted by OilfieldTrash on 10/21/21 at 7:21 pm
Tired of using a combination of yahoo finance, vanguard and internet searching to gain info in companies. Would like a one stop for all fundamental and technical analysis especially for the small caps. I have read about AI Trading for institutional investors. Does this exist for retail?

TravelingTiger55 speaks the truth. I have lived both in N’Djamena and Luanda. EG from what I have been told is the best out of them all unless the Karoo basin ever becomes a reality in South Africa.

N’Djamena and the entire country itself has a very interesting history and has been an ally of the US for some time. To those that have been to Club One in N’Djamena also know that they are big allies to France as well. I don’t miss the tapis rouge that Deby frequently had going to and from the airport but it is a remarkable place to live.

We booked the Pink Jeep Tour since we have young kids. It’s the most tourist thing that you can do but the kids had a great time on it.
Don’t park beside the highway while going to Devils Bridge. Try to get a spot in the actual parking lot. It will save you about a 1/2 mile or more walk depending how far down the road you park.

Road thru Paradise Valley towards the Roosevelt Gate is a great drive. Plus i read that like 60% of the animals congregate on the north east side of the park which is essentially the road from mammoth hot springs to Cooke city. We saw one wolf but plenty of other animals during winter. I imagine summer would be even a better view.
re: BONUS THREAD: Trip to Yellowstone, Grand Teton & Jackson Hole OR Costa Rica Suggestions
Posted by OilfieldTrash on 4/7/21 at 8:11 pm to RummelTiger
Just did Jackson Hole to West Yellowstone to Gardiner then onto Whitefish for Glacier. Different conditions sine we did quite a bit of snowmobiling into Yellowstone and the Continental Divide but any trip into Yellowstone should go via Paradise Valley and enter thru Roosevelt Gate. I would stay at Mammoth Hot Springs but i imagine that thing books up months in advance.

I’ve done it plus a trip to Sharm El-Sheikh on the way to climb Mt. Moses. Can’t say i remember it costing $15k but my trip was back in the early 2000s.
If you can afford it, then do it. It’s definitely a bucket list item.
