I was a detective and detective sergeant for several years. I also worked on a homicide task force. It is not glamorous but the bonds you build with coworkers will always remain strong. I struggled most with child victims, especially when my kids were younger and close to the same age as the victim. I'm still in LE but I really don't miss the callouts.
I saw a license plate on a Hummer that said "IKNEEDA" and a sticker on a minivan that said "My other ride is your mom".
