Let’s say a boat captain is traveling from point A to point B at midnight traveling approx. 52mph through obstacles going into a river and passing a boat. If nothing happens. Some would say he was a good driver and some would say just lucky.

So let’s look at this in a different scenario

If a boat captain is traveling from point A to point B at midnight traveling approx. 52mph almost hits trees, blows through a No Wake Zone, almost hits trees again and then collides with another boat. Kills people and injures people.

Let’s put a twist in that scenario. The Captain isn’t even behind the wheel.

Not even including Alcohol

Would this be negligent, irresponsible, stupidity, a moron, or all of the above or something worse

Again This is just made up scenarios and trying to get some opinions
The irresponsible Sea fox driver that wasn’t even paying attention. That almost hit a tree line so he yanked the wheel at the last minute which sent the sea fox directly towards the pontoon.

This guy should have never been allowed to operate a boat. Much less own one.
From what we know he ran on top of some cypress nots under the water.
If he isn’t in jail the rest of his life. They need to revoke his boaters certificate.

He sank a boat a month ago. And now done tried killing 13 people and sinking his boat and taking out another.

This type of person should never be allowed to own a boat nor drive one

This is straight from WL&F

People born after 1983 are required to have taken boater’s safety and carry their certification to operate a small recreational vessel.

Stop being an idiot.

Dude come on. Everyone born after a certain age has to have it.
Wake up people. The ones doing the arguing about it dont even have a boat. They just like to argue. That’s what is wrong with this world.
Getting fined doesn’t fix stupid. Come on people. Wake up.
It’s actually considered an endorsement. Like having a motor cycle endorsement on your license. You can take that certificate of completion from the boaters education to your DMV and have it added on back of your actual drivers license. I was born in 80. I took the class not even required to just to help understand the rules of boating.this should be a requirement for everyone to have just to understand the basics of navigation lights bouys and more.

But having that class doesn’t prevent a moron from running 50+ at night on a river at midnight. You can’t fix stupid
I do not know if he was or wasn’t drinking.

I do know that we run around the lakes occasionally at all these places and that doesn’t mean that we are drinking.

You can boat ride and hang out at these places and not drink.
Someone on that boat had life 360.

The mom of one of the other girls on that boat was saying her and the girl that died were telling the guy to slow down and didn’t listen to them. If you look between the news stations comments and Facebook comments and here you can piece it all together.

This guy was absolutely out of control.
It was Jason Chaisson’s boat. And the girl reported deceased from his boat is Thuy Gustin. They have a go fund me page for her. Please everyone donate to assist in funeral costs
Out of respect of the water everyone treats it the same a driving a car. On the right side. Everyone needs to stick to the facts. The guy was on the left tree line driving 54/mph at midnight this is absolutely wrong. We run around between 40-50 during the daylight hours and that is fast on the water.

3 factors go into night riding. Watching navigation if you have it. Watching the tree tops and watching for other boaters on the water.

There is one true fact the sea fox did not see the barge. That 100% had navigational lighting. So that tells me. Someone was driving off the tree tops and or navigation and not watching for other boaters.
The guy driving the sea fox sunk a boat a few months ago. A smaller center console. And apparently just got this one.
Stop saying the boat didn’t have navigational lights on. This is false. It is a 150k barge with a permanent ski rack with a permanent white light marker.

Stop trying to create a false narrative
