Spent a week there, specifically in Bricktown and downtown area, and couldn’t disagree with you more. Boring as hell and the restaurants were either franchises or the local restaurants were mid at best.

This is the correct answer. I would only go back for a wedding for death in the family.

6 months ago I was the most pro division person. I hope we never go back to divisions. It has added a lot more excitement for sure.

victorinox.
Wife and I bought several for our destination wedding > 14 years ago.
Just fantastic for getting around and durability. We use at least one or two of them on average monthly since we were married. We Absolutely beat the crap out of them going all sorts of places.
Could not recommend more.

re: I10 or Hwy190

Posted by IMLSUdoc on 9/27/24 at 3:31 am to
Spent years driving from north and now driving from the west.

Always have your Waze on.

But every one that says coming from the north and taking 190 is right. But the real trick is to get off the exit before Opelousas And avoid the back up of traffic trying to get to 190. Fun little drive. Then get on 190 a s hit up food at the place of your choice anddrive through sandy’s daiquiris.

If coming from the west. Yeah. I10 is the way until their is an accident on the bridge.

I would wager that some high earners (like doctors) may actually be better off in Baton Rouge.

So, as someone who just made this comparison. I am moving to Austin. It’s more than just cost of living. It’s opportunities and access as well. I am taking a small pay cut to move to a state with less taxes (from where I am at) and more growth and opportunity while still keeping my season tickets. This was a no brainer. If someone can change my mind please go for it.

how morbid obesity "came to be pathologized and medicalized in racialized terms"

Here is the thing. When your morbid obese patients come in and need to be placed on the vent it is really hard to ventilate them against the extrinsic pressure provided by their habitus. I have had so so many people yell at me about their fat loved one dying on the vent but here is the thing and I will place this in OT terms. It is super hard to blow up a ballon when someone sitting on it.

It is these academic doctors who never touch patients who I absolutely despise. They are not on the ground in their own university hospitals let alone working in or at large city hospitals.

Spend a lot of time up here.
Golden would be high on my choices as would Broomfield and TBH Aurora is not all that bad. Just depends on your willingness to drive. They do a great job with snow so do not be scared of driving on it. I70 Can suck but no worse than any big city.

I have a wine cellar for a couple hundred bottles of wine. It is not much but it is mine. I don't plan on sitting in the aftermath of a tornado sober.
