I'm really just hear for the nostalgia, so give me Hocus Pocus, Bettlejuice, Addams Family.

Ernest Scared Stupid was a favorite of mine when I was a kid.

OG Halloween and a guilty pleasure for me is Halloween H2O.

i bought the entire Nightmare On Elm Street series for 20 bucks on bluray last week and i'm working my way through those again. not halloween per se, but close enough.

Sleepy Hollow (the animated original and the Depp version).

Trick R’ Treat is always a watch for me this time of year as well outside of the usual suspects.

The Faculty

great one

i'm actually a huge sucker for all of the post-Scream / pre-oughts horror movies

The Faculty
H20
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Urban Legend

I'll even throw in Carrie 2: The Rage, Teaching Mrs Tingle and Disturbing Behavior although they werent really in the slasher genre like the others

it's fully nostalgia bait for me, which i'm ok with

I'm largely into campy movies: Friday the 13th series; Halloween series up to say '95; Children of the Corn; When a Stranger Calls; The Strangers; The Shining.

The GOAT will always be The Exorcist.

What's the scariest scene you've ever seen that still haunts you?

the school scene in OG Nightmare for me. Tina in the bodybag, the student reading that line from Hamlet in that weird voice and staring at Nancy. the dead leaves blowing through the hallway. it's the perfect horror movie scene in my opinion.

Practical Magic (1998). Not really a Halloween movie but feels seasonal around it. A sequel just came out and is currently in theaters.

Interesting choice. In that vein, how about The Witches of Eastwick?

You’ll get some shite for that selection but it’s 100% fall/Halloween vibe.

Yeah I don’t think it’s the “best” Halloween movie. Although the subject states this, since these threads quickly go down the path of everyone trying to name a movie they like that hasn’t already been named already, this is why I threw it in.

The Craft scared young Catfish a bit, but I wouldn't admit it to anyone

I watched it a couple years ago and it didn't really hold up in terms of fear inducement, but I still enjoyed it for nostalgia reasons

Halloween 6 is dumb fun, and is dripping with that grunge mid 90s aesthetic during Halloween.
