re: Florida at Auburn

Only way there is a blowout is on the AU side with crowd and game gets sideways early for UF. You have to withstand the first punch in that place.

Haven’t watched UF but AU basically the same on D as last year and maybe slightly better on offense.

Getting cute on 2nd and 1 and almost throwing a pick is maddening, he’s too pass happy and belongs more in the NFL
That program has gone in the tank. You have to go back to 2000s since they were consistently solid. Never a consistent threat to win the SEC since ‘92 but we’re solid at one time. The last 15 years they have been basically G5 level.

When has Bama ever had one that averaged 50.

JK Scott?
The lineman downfield when they were near the goaline was ticky tack as well. The no review on the obvious incomplete pass that handed them 3 points may have been the most egregious.

Didn’t recognize that ref but my guess is significant bias against Bama trying to keep UK in the game. After dominating cfb for 17 years there is Bama fatigue and there will be bias against us. Something to look out for
This will be Dabo’s last year, he may not make it through the season
Defense looked great outside of one busted coverage - ECU did nothing. The coverage bust was concerning, Bray Hubbard is a liability in coverage and afraid good teams will exploit that.

We are different at RB this year. Hill looks slimmer and quicker. Crowell and the Brown are HR threats which we completely lacked last year and Riley has good vision.

The OL was inconsistent but we couldn’t run even against G5 teams last year and I saw much more space to run yesterday. Everyone will say it was ECU but still better than last year.

Agreed buffalo Phil’s is bad, but if I remember correctly it was one of the only off campus places you could use dining dollars so maybe that’s always propped up their sales

They actually added dining dollars as option while I was there maybe 2002 or so and food went downhill from there at Phil’s. Forgot to mention Tut”s! That was a Sunday regular the year I lived on Reed St

Is the Quick Grill still open?

The Quick Grill and Buffalo Phils are the only spots on the Strip still open from when I was a student in early 2000s. Buffalo Phils food was average back then but I loved me some Quick Grill!

Anyone remember the following:

Pepitos
Hale Tavern
Lei Lei
Crimson Cafe (I think this is Glory Bound now)
The NIT has always been second rate but feel like more so now. Most of the good bubble teams don't even play.
Aden wouldn’t have made much of difference maybe slightly closer game. Bama lost that game in the preseason with a whiff on two bigs in the transfer portal and the freshmen big ruled out with a heart issue. This was a nightmare matchup for Bama.

Has a 17-16 at large team ever made it? Losing 9/10 down the stretch lost for AU.
How the hell did that happen? Ole Miss is one of the worst defensive teams in the league and the only game we score under 80?! Bama didn’t show up. Prob sweet 16 max
Oats completely whiffed in the portal this year and will limit this team in the tournament. Williamson is unplayable, TBB is close to unplayable and Bethea is a defensive liability. The rest of the transfers are injured.

Bruce is a legend. Of course he would have more wins.

Point is the team is not devoid of talent. There are enough pieces to be a 5-6 seed type team.

I disagree. Bruce abandoned y'all just so Steven could get a shot. However, while this might have been a rebuilding year with Bruce, he still would have had y'all firmly in play for the tournament, just like Tennessee and Bama in rebuilding years. Steven just isn't a good coach. The fix is simple: hire a real coach, not somebody's kid.

Yep, Bruce waited until right before the season to retire because by then the roster was intact for his son to have some success even though it was rebuilding year. Steven is just a bad coach. Bruce would likely have 3-4 more wins with this group.

Arkansas game is going to be huge

How does Bama matchup with Ark? Acuff is their man and we tend to let those guys for 30+. Haven't watch them much but are they big inside defensively?
Because Bama involved it is getting people attention. Baylor won a national title a few years ago and outrage basically non-existent.
Bediako never should have declared in the first place and was never drafted. Too many of these players are getting bad information. He’s a good college player but that is about it
Golden talked shite and backed it up, bad look for Oats ability to motivate. This Florida team is good but not great. Florida just owns Bama in basketball the last 20+ years to the point I don’t think we will ever consistently beat them.
Glad I didn’t watch the game, had a feeling this would happen. This team is middle of the pack SEC team this year, very disappointing.
