Talk to an asst at the school that turned them in or a former coach - they will probably tell you.

If there was some superstar, you might have an argument. But I defy you to point out one kid that the team could not have lost and won these championships. Hell they lost the starting QB the last 4 games and had to start a freshman and it didn’t affect them. This was just a well coached, hard working bunch of kids.
Absolutely agree. The select league is doing this all over the state. It naive to not recognize that and hypocritical of the LHSAA to not admit that.
so many bitches are jealous of dem bears.

I agree. That’s all it is. What’s funny is that Catholic has always been good, but this past year was only their 3rd State Championship. But for years, they have given scholarships to needy students that came out with excellent education and a bright future. So to all of you that are jealous , just what is it that you were jealous of ? Kids being given an opportunity they would have likely never had a chance at ?

I think it’s awesome that something has finally come down on Catholic!! Now they need to get the baseball team and the basketball team

Why ? What does that do for you ?
This is totally false. Fertitta basically put out a recruiting manual to his assistant coaches and assigned them to BREC teams, middle school teams, Catholic school teams and various little league teams. It was more widespread than you think. Then they got into it with a former ninth grade coach that was at another school. Both schools went to the LHSAA about each other. There were plenty of emails, text, pictures, etc on Catholic. Dutchtown coach had nothing to do with reporting it

I fail to see the problem ? Just where do you think they would get students and players ?
I said earlier I can name one for sure that came from Prairieville Middle that not only started for Catholic the kid was 2X all state

________\\\\__________________________\\\____

What year ? What position ? Was he recruited or just wanted to go to Catholic?

Why doesn’t anyone want to say what they were doing? Y’all are sharing more about the kids involved than the actual violations.

Supposedly some texts about kids coming from Dutchtown. Kids that never started a single down and only played sparingly when the game was out of reach. Not one kid that played in these 4 years as a starter is a subject of the investigation. There are a lot of politics involved in this, and some whining from a coach.
Yes if non diploma track it sounds like he was a special education student. We know Catholic doesn’t accept Special Education students.

Since the main focus of Catholic High is a quality education that is very expensive BTW, I can understand that. If a student is special ed, there are plenty of schools you can pay about the same to send them to or send to public schools that have programs for them. But the same applies. They would get a much better education at a school that specializes in special ed because our public schools don’t do a good job of it.
feel for the kids who worked hard, overcame obstacles, and went out champions only to have their accomplishments smeared. I have told my son that I don't care what LHSAA, the media or random internet folks say. He and his team are champions.

Exactly. These kids know how they won and it wasn’t from cheating. They will always be recognized as state champions by those that know. The 2019 team that lost in the championship game was one of the best teams this state has ever seen, they destroyed good opponents and fought the hard games to win against the very best like STM out of Lafayette. The work ethic, desire, selfless team work they demonstrated will be with them the rest of their lives. There was no superstar, just a TEAM of average hard working kids that put it all together on the field. With not a single player that was recruited. That can never be taken from them.
You are clueless. If you are talking about the twins from Dutchtown, they definitely played last year. And their coach is not the one to turn them in. An ex-assistant coach turned them in. And what they were doing was pretty bold.

Those twins are seniors this year. They are what this whole thing was started over. They NEVER started a game and only played when the game was locked up.
going with the idea that Catholic doesn’t recruit because your grandson wasn’t recruited.......that ain’t it.

You can’t possibly have orange and black glasses that thick huh?

Also, you saying if someone has proof of something, then turn them in......well it looks like that happened

Where did I say they didn’t recruit ? I’m saying it was a technical violation that didn’t amount to a hill of beans and didn’t enhance the team to affect winning on the field where it counts. From what I understand it was a text. If they had just talked to the parents, wouldn’t have been a violation they could prove. And if you don’t think this goes on at many schools including Central, you are delusional. Central always has players from out of district, enticed to come there. I remember a star running back there a few years ago that was dumb as a rock but was allowed to play under something called non diploma bound. At least at Catholic, you make the grades or you don’t play.
Ok… I know of 5 kids that are from central over the last 4 years that were given benefits to some degree to attend Catholic. I’m not mad at it, but I’d like to keep them if possible lol

That’s BS. Post the names. I have a grandson that was on this team all 4 years, made all state, and I can damn well tell you nobody recruited him. His mom and dad wanted to put him in the best school they could for future opportunities. They sacrificed a lot to pay for him to go there. Not a DIME of help, nothing, NADA, ZERO. And he would know of any players that were recruited, none were. This all started over a whiny Ascension Parish coach that got mad because 2 players left for Catholic. NEITHER ever played a down as a starter. So if you have proof of something, post it. Otherwise quit making up lies.
Exactly what happened and we know who it is.
the D1 title even worth boasting about?

I mean, compare the D1 bracket to 5A.

Actually, Catholic has beat most of the 5A teams.
I've been around the Prairieville program for a long time. I know you can't name more than 2 players that went to Catholic High. And trust me, these were not Star player

Those 2 are what started the investigation because the coach over there whines about it. Neither one played, never started a down.

Designed correctly a pond is supposed to offset the fill placed in an area. Now the ponds have to be engineered correctly, maintained and kept to their original size and depth.

Not true at all. These ponds are only required to collect the run off from the development in a 10 year flood event. I think they increased it to 25 after 16. It doesn’t address the flooding that is caused North or South of the development by filling in a natural drainage path. Nor affects on existing homes surrounding it. The outrageous amount of building going on needs to be stopped by FEMA and local governments required to develop a recovery plan before another permit is issued. Adding to the problem like we are and it will never get fixed
That is correct. And the people North of it get the water that backs up because it has no place to go.
Banning cell phone usage in cars would fix a lot of it.
I hate the beach, when I hook up to my camper I’m heading North. Screw the traffic, already have to put up with it enough going to work. 1.5-2 hrs going home in the afternoons to go just 14 miles.
Also, digging a water retention pond on a site and using that dirt to build up the area is a total farce. The damn pond stays full of water so how does that allow it to function as intended as a retention pond?

The developers have convinced Government that this works, when it reality it only helps to mitigate drainage in that development. If you follow the FEMA guidelines, it’s in direct violation. Sooner or later, FEMA is going to say enough is enough, and flood insurance won’t be affordable. These parish governments are approving these developments without taking into account upstream and downstream drainage. When you build up land directly in the path of natural drainage, there is no way to mitigate it. Guaranteed it’s going to cause additional flooding. This needs to stop NOW
ForLSU56, just a little note on your comment. I’ve studied this for years, a P&Z, City Government, has never been sued successfully when it comes to flood plain management and FEMA guidelines. In fact, very few cases where they have been sued by developers and lost. These elected officials are using that as an excuse, they have the ultimate power when it comes to approval IF it’s not arbitrary and it’s backed by code. This can be stopped, and it’s well past time it is. These cases have been all the way to the SCOTUS and La Supreme Court and upheld.
