just my 2 cents
we did a very light plaster color and our pool rarely gets hot in the summer. ledge the length of the pool to chill, nothing over 6 foot unless you and your pool companions are tall it is just a waste a deep section because it gets rarely used. a gas heater and a water feature, lights- check placement so it does not shine back at you, bubblers, bar stools- love mine for watching the ball games, umbrella holders conveniently installed, low maintenance landscape with a privacy feature- put sweet viburnum all around that secludes the area and creates your own oasis- outside bathroom with handsink

need to get water out the backyard to the street. lawn is a wreck with dogs and standing water. how difficult is it to use a ditch witch to do my own drainage and install french drains. have about 100 feet total to do and 5 drains to install

i have a weber genesis as well/ i put wood chunks in a small cast iron skillet over one of my burners / takes about an hour to start smoking and last a while and as needed / i dont soak them
leave one burner on and i can keep the temperature i want no problem
