about what? Cars are just for hauling stuff and people. Why spend more than you have to on them? then have to pay outrageous amounts to insure them, pay interest to buy one, watch the value drop on a new one by thousands of $ every year? What's fun about commuting? put that money in something that makes you money, so you can soon stop having to commute, or work at all. I haven't had to hit a lick in decades. Just shoot, hunt, fish, backpack/camp, travel, play on the net. The only real work i do is with a progressive reloader, about 50 hours a year, and setting up the casting gear for the kid to turn out a year's supply of bullets over the thanksgiving weekend. I put in my 20 years, that's it.

why? cause you ignorant twits say so? What I said is factual. Bikes are very limited use items, anyone can see that, even a little kid. It's almost always raining, too hot, too cold, too buggy to ride one, on top of being quite likely to get killed by some bozo in a car who didn't see you. When they quit you, the big ones are hell to push very far, especially with a flat tire. yet they are easily stolen by anyone with a pickup or van and a 2x12 that's a mere 8 feet long. Bum deal all around, really, unless it' a combo off road 450, for 1k or or less. 300 lbs or less. Then you CAN push it by yourself, it CAN go off road, it is available for 1k in good used condition and is thus no big thing when it blows up, gets wrecked or stolen, which we all know is highly likely to occur
have you got 5k to put into the gun, scope, reloading set up, instruction? have you got the 1000 yd range to practice on, the at least $3k more per year to spend on ammo, gas, range fees, etc? Do you realize that unless the animal is bedded-down, shooting beyond 400 yds on a deer, or 500 yds on an elk, marks you as a real jerk? The reason this is tru is that the bullet is in the air long enough for the animal to take a step, and then you've gut-shot it.
re: Is hog meat still good if not skinned until the next morning?

this is why you have taste buds and scent glands. If it smells bad or tastes bad, dont eat it. Who skins hogs? We dip them in a barrel of hot water and shave them.
why I wont pay more than 1k for a bike. They are just too limited-use an item. I wont pay more than 2k for a 4-wheeled vehicle, either, and then only for a van, cause I can save that much every 2 years,by sleeping in it instead of in motel rooms.
Have you seen the claim that gas is going to keep dropping in price, cause electric cars are going to take over, and gas cars are going to get cheaper and cheaper? the claim was by 2024. i say that they are fos and off by at least 5 years, probably never happen at all.

re: Veterans: How much use does a military pistol actually get in deployment?
Posted by entre on 12/16/18 at 6:03 pm to WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot
2000 rds a year thru a pistol? where, in a company that trains mps, at ait, maybe? no, man, in a combat zone, that pistol wont see 200 rds a year and probably wont fire 20 rds. unless you somehow smuggle in a lot of your own ammo. The pistol ammo is often hard to come by, since we no longer use SMGs and the battlefront is very limited in nature.
VERY few people are even issued a pistol. I never once fired mine (legally) my entire hitch in Korea. Mostly, there's no ranges at which to do any shooting and every round has to be accounted for if you're not in a combat zone. COPS in the US are not issued even 1000 rds a year, man. You guys are dreaming. The pistol is almost never used, other than for suicide. That said, a 1 lb pocket 9mm can be a great comfort. I'll always do with a cup less water or a lb less food to have one. It's the 3-4lbs of .45 and ammo that's a problem, not the 15 ozs of pocket 9mm.

you obviously have no experience in the military. of course you need to conceal a gun any time you're in a combat zone. you wont always be lugging that rife around, and you damned well BETTER always be ready to be shoot some pos at a bar, going by you in a vehicle, on a bike, etc

cowards like you are the reason we've got all these scumbags. he's already seen to it that there's no witnesses, or he'd not have tried it. So just walk away. Nothing to worry about, really. nobody cares about another dead pos. in fact, they are saying "HOOORAY" as soon as they find out who he is.
sure, if you've got a crystal ball that tells you that's all he wants and if you are a coward that lets other scum just continue to prey upon people. Which is the only reason we even HAVE any such scum. You can believe that many people have had the chance to kill the pos before, and like you, were chickenit
maybe YOU are incapable of merely getting your hand out of your pocket, with something in it, but most of us manage it just fine.

like I said, when sitting down for long periods, take it out of the pocket rig and wear it "mexican". Having it loose on the car seat lets people see it, which is illegal in a lot of states, invites trouble, and it will be lost in an accident, as the dumbarsed feds found out in the Miami shootout.

like nearly everyone else, you can't read.I said I chose the Kahr, but even if i hadn't, the glock is plenty safe enough for such a carry. IF you aint stupid enough to just jam the gun into the waistband and also have a 3 lb match trigger. Nobody has or ever did have such problems with DA revolvers and the Glock is at LEAST as safe as a DA revolver.

there's nothing floating about a decent pocket holster. It's got velcro tabs on it and the interior of the pockets. You can't beat the drop with an IWB rig, unless the guy is very inept and distracted, cause you ca't reliably make such a draw and hit in the needed .60 second (including your .20 second reaction time). It CAN be done with the pocket rig, if you have sense enough to have your hand already in your pocket, as I clearly indicated in the OP.
even if they wont let you take the cotton rope hammock or cut up their 20x20 tarp, you can still make a lot of netting from cutting up a bivvy sack, YOUR 12x12 tarp, the rope clews and tree straps from the sheet-type hammock, out of the 40m of paracord (take 9 strand 750 cord, nobody will notice or care) out of the 900 ft of monofilament line in the fishing kit. You might have to settle for a shorter, less wide seine, and only one smaller net weir, but you'll still catch 300+ lbs of fish in 6 weeks. If you also catch a deer or a wolve, several beaver or otter, or a bunch of coons, porcupines, etc, and know to just "hole up" after the fish leave you'll still win.
I retired at age 35. 1987. :-)
well, they shouild have been saving and investing all the billions of dollars we saved them by defending them for the past 100 years, instead of blowing it on commie bs.
500 points is NOTHING when the dow's at 25,000. I remember when it first cracked 5000, back in 1992. THEN, 500 points meant something, cause it was 10% of the total. now it's 2% of the total. It would have to be 2500 pt drop to mean as much.
it should be newt gingrich or Ann Coulter.
