We plan on getting an airbnb on the mountain and just skiing, cooking, and hanging in the condo for the majority of the time. Had a friend that went over Thanksgiving break to visit family and had no issue other than nothing was really open. ...

Would def recommend spending a few days in Chiang Mai. Try khao soi, you can only get it in north thailand and it was delicious. Plenty of places to eat, drink, and party (Zoe in yellow). Also, the sunday night market in Chiang Mai was one of the better market experiences IMO. ...
